Ableton Download Issue

I have been using Ableton lite for about a week on a PC. Tonight I loaded it on a MacBook Pro. It indicated download was successful. I rebooted the Mac but I cannot find Ableton icon anywhere? The PC auto loaded a icon. I tried loading again and still cannot find Ableton. I'm not all that familiar with MacBook Pro...but I looked everywhere for the download to no avail. Not under downloads, Abelton not found in search. Not in any file or folder that I can find. My guess is that it didn't download...but after 8 min it indicates 'successful' each time. Would mac even let me load the same program again if it was already installed? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply, I understand how to save changes once I'm in the program. Problem is...I cannot find the Ableton program. No icon or file and not showing up in finder. I assume it didn't load...which is weird since I watched it load (took several minutes) and indicated 'successful' load at the end. I tried reloading with same result? I'm open to any suggestions where this file may be hiding or what to try next. Im well versed on PC but I'm new to Mac so wondering what I'm missing here? Is the normal process for a icon to appear on the home screen once Ableton is downloaded?

Thanks Funk n Furter. I downloaded Ableton again. This time when I got to the page asking "where to save" I read it closely. There was only one choice "Mac HD" but you must actually click on the icon for it to save there. I assumed it would automatically go there (like when a PC auto defaults to C: drive) without actually having to select it. Once download was complete this time...I found the Ableton icon in launch pad. I clearly need to take some macableton training.
