Hi thank you but no, this only works on some of the projects, not even close to half of them...all of my live sets are 100% audio tracks, no outside sources whatsoever, and i "collect all" and saved each set to my Kingston flash drive, then loaded it into my newer pc, opened Live, and the tracks will show audio on some projects, and not on others. more frustrating is that some audio tracks will show up in my new program, but as soon as i open Live without the Kingston plugged in, all samples go blank again, and "collect all" and save has not helped with the flash drive in either...Is this a problem with Windows 8 ??

i often have this problem :/ live shows me that some samples are missing and i need to "search in projekt". i don´t know why live doesn´t recognize the samples which are inside this project automatically.

yes indeed in LIVE 9, sometimes you'll have to reach the files manually.

Even though the files are included in the project, live 9 doesn't seem to be smart enough to locate them.

How lame is this? welcome in live 9 and features that don't work as expected.

I use ableton live almost everyday but this 9 is a big fail with the indexer.

ABLETON crew this is a real case for updating your software.

This is a fact, live 9 cannot find audio files that are included with collect all & save.
it cannot find files though they are there IN THE PROJECT folders

some people are telling me that although windows 8 is a good platform and works well with ableton, the files from windows xp are just different and dont translate well, so trying to shift my projects from xp to 8 probly wont work..that sucks...and btw this is Live 8.2 somethin, not Live 9, i never had this problem with my old lappy and xp...

Same problem here, i've done a "collect all and save" and when i try the project on my new PC, ableton can't find a lot of files... this files seem to be consolidated files, i have to replace each file manually in the project ! and when you have about 300 files to replace ....!!!

i don't think you should believe them.

why not try creating a new folder for the project on the destktop... save your .als to it
open the .als from that location (not the old location)
then, Collect All & Save
after the Collect All & Save... test.
if successful... then, move that folder over to the flash drive.
rinse
repeat

"but as soon as i open Live without the Kingston plugged in, all samples go blank again"

On your OLD PC - COLLECT ALL AND SAVE to your flash drive.
On your NEW PC - DO NOT LOAD SET FROM FLASH DRIVE -> MOVE THE CONTENTS TO YOUR PROJECTS DRIVE

Loading from flash drives Tells Ableton to write als and alp files to the flash drive, you need to load from your PROJECTS drive that you installed on your windows 8 machine.
