My one wish for/ from the DAW community would be Linux /Ubuntu native (no wine or parallels bs) just straight up Ubuntu or what ever distri hell, maybe a distri where all the big DAW company's contributed and collaborated so like props, Abe, cakewalk, motu, Image line cuckos, steinberg, and maybe avid and of course all the software devs NI spectrasonics waves etc etc, cause if they all had one so that they all had complete control over and everyone was on it I know most ppl would love to have a free OS that was not dependent on special hardware or apple / microsoft and it would allow them to offer some of the necessities for music production like Asio (or equivalent ), rewire, internal midi ports, and etc etc built right in at the core and allow the daw greater and higher priority on the CPU usuage
But I guess this is all wishful thinking, but imagine though knowing that whatever comp you bought or built you could put an OS (for free) on it that had every program you wanted and no Mac/PC availability compromises

Re: Ubuntu unified platform dream/hopes
Back before Apple was hated developers often didn’t develop a Mac version because it was a small percentage of the market and therefor there wasn’t enough money in it to bother.
