Problem w/ selecting drum cells in note mode. [SOLVED]

Post by willdahbe » Mon Sep 02, 2013 8:08 pm

Couldn't find anything on here about this, but after 30mins of messing with Push while programing the pad select stops responding while sequencing and editing parameters of a pad/sample while focused on a drum rack. This also happens if i open up a project that I've already started.

Normal operation should be hit the drumrack pad you want to edit and it turns blue and be ready for editing via the top encoders. What ends up happening is that you hit a pad and it only makes a sound. I have to manually press the Select button then the pad I want to edit or sequence.

Does anyone else have this problem, am I doing something wrong?

This happens when Repeat is on. Is it deselected when this happens?

Yeah, it still happens when Repeat is deactivated.

If I'm understanding you correctly, when you touch a pad the display will present you with the drum kit and the drum pad. It is normal to press "Select” so that the little arrow is next to the drum pad you hit for editing. There's nothing wrong with your Push.

It's not just with editing the adsr's, pitch and the drum cell parameters. When you hit a pad on Push the pad should turn blue so you can step sequence it and edit parameters via the encoders. After awhile it stops working like this, I have to push the select button just to even step sequence a drum cell.

I've yet to figure out how to replicate it.

Btw I'm on OS X 10.6.8 running Live 9.0.5

W/ no other controllers hooked up.

I do have 4 external keyboards hooked up though.

1 Waldorf Rocket via usb
1 Arturia Minibrute via usb
1 Kawai K3 via midi at the end of the chain (so it's not sending any data)
1 Motu Ultralite Mk3 midi IN/Out to Yamaha V50 which the K3 is getting it's midi signal from via the Thru

I'm going to do some testing to see if the Rocket or V50 is sending data while having my Drumrack armed that is somehow toggling the auto select function off.

Figured it out. There is a little button on the bottom left of the Drumrack that engages/disables the auto select feature on the drumrack.
