White knobs?

Post by DeNwA » Wed Aug 14, 2013 10:27 am

Since the knobs over the pots are plastic, they shoud be replaceable without interfering with the touch sensitivty of the knobs.

I'd like to replace my Master Volume know with white or another bright color as I often move it by mistake as it is so close to the parameter knobs.

Does anyone know and ebay source for colored knobs the same shape?

Carefully, put a small piece of tape around the shaft and paint the top surface white. Just a thought..

Yeah. Could do that but would rather order a 5 cent knob off ebay. Also for resale value I'd like to keep the stock knobs. I just can't remember what the call the shaft style on these pots.

Just wait until these guys got a blueprint for the Push. Forget the knobs imho... too much work for a couple of white knobs.

I think you missed the part about accidentaly grabbing the master knob since it's so close to the others. :)

I might go with a sticker if I don;t find a knob to my liking. They are 6mm D-Shaft (internal) and about 16 or 17mm on the bottom external. 10mm external at the top.

I've actually been thinking of replacing the 8 knobs with silver and the master with gold for distinctive look.

DJ TechTools does those bright chroma caps... won't have an idea if they fit onto a push though?

the stock plastic knobs are actually covered in a conductive material, so you whatever you replace them with needs to be conductive too. otherwise you will lose the touch-sensitivity altogether.

the shafts are 6mm D-type, and you should also measure the shaft length so you can work out what knobs will fit properly...

Won't the knobs do anything at all, if you're covering them with unconductive material?

generally the touch-sensitivity allows you to switch display focus to a parameter without actually changing it. turning the knob works regardless.

Chroma Caps will fit, it's tight and looks a little weird on the 2 little ones, but they will fit the Push.

Well if you wrap the push in a not-black color, the knobs should stand out well. Might work for you.

I've been tempted to cover my master volume knob with a safety case. Similar to this:

Sidenote: On the push, is there an easy way to reset a knob to zero/default? I've been trying to figure this out for months now.
