Double click the clip. Change the Clip Launch settings.
Quantization can be set to none
Also you can turn Loop off
Or try using a drum rack.

+1 use drum rack. just drag your samples into the pads of drum rack, you will be able to play them with the mpd.
if you want to loop samples though...you will have to use session view. there is a loop mode in drum rack....but its not that great (IMO)

drag a "drum rack" from your instrument's file on to a midi track, drag and drop samples on to the pads on the drum rack....play them with your mpd.

If you use the drum rack, either turn off the Remote Surface script you are using for the MPD or go to a different midi channel. Right now if you were to attempt to play notes on an instrument, it'd just trigger clips in session view.
