I'm on 9.0.5. In the manual it says "When recording into Session slots or into the
Arrangement, record quantization is an independent step in Live’s Undo history. This means that
if, for example, you recorded with Record Quantization set to “Eighth Note Triplet Quantization“
and then changed your mind, using the Edit menu’s Undo command would undo only the quantization
and leave your recording otherwise intact."
This only works in Arrangement view for me. In Session view the only undo step available after a recording is "Undo Slot Recording"
I did a search and I've seen people mentioning Record Quantization being dropped altogether in 9 but not sure if that was in an earlier version. Since it's there in the manual and it does work in Arrangement view, something must be wrong?
Undo Midi Record Quantization in Session view broken in 9?
Re: Undo Midi Record Quantization in Session view broken in 9?
Could somebody confirm this or is it only me?
Re: Undo Midi Record Quantization in Session view broken in 9?
You are absolutely correct...Ableton deactivated this very handy feature to better jive with Push. I have written to them in reference to this issue. I am glad to hear this being addressed again!
ABES: Is there a simple script that users like us could use to restore this functionality? Being able to keep or undo quantization while laying down loops live onstage is a wonderful asset. It also streamlines studio production. Thank you.

Yes! I'm all for new features but when functionality is taken away, I just don't get it. I too rely on that feature heavily for live on the fly grooves and performances. Don't get me started on dropping global groove/swing in Live 8 for the groove pool. That one was even worse, for me that is...solovox wrote: ...Being able to keep or undo quantization while laying down loops live onstage is a wonderful asset. It also streamlines studio production. Has there been an official statement from Ableton on Undo Quantization? If they dropped it, why is it still in the manual?
Re: Undo Midi Record Quantization in Session view broken in 9?
I just got a much appreciated reply from support:
"We tested both the Undo behavior and the APC40 Record Quantization behavior here and it appears that both may be bugs, so we will report them to the developers.
Unfortunately, we cannot say when these bugs might be repaired, so we appreciate your patience on this."
Fingers crossed...
