The drivers for the Mbox seem to work more consistently if you always launch the Digi CoreAudio Manager before the audio app that you want to use.

do these two things....

download (**not auto update**) and install osx.4.2 update.

download and install the latest digidesign update (including core audio fix)

apparently there are issues with the osx auto-updating and the digigdesign core audio. Doing in this order should fix your problem. It works fine on my g3 ibook and mbox.

I have Mac OSx version 10.3.9
U think I should shift to 10.4.2 in order to use the Mbox with Live ?

ahh... 10.3.9.

yes... maybe don't shift, unless you have protools 6.9

if you're on PT 6.4, then definately do not change up to 10.4.2 until Digidesign release a standalone core audio driver.

good luck,

Try launching Digidesign Core Audio Setup (In protools application folder), go to the Add/Remove part of the app. Remove all instances of live and then re-enable whichever version you are wanting to use. Recently had this problem with my friends digi001 system and this is how we fixed it.

Good Luck
