Solid state drive anyone?

Post by filter_7 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:20 am

I'm wondering if there's a real benefit using an external solid state drive for putting in the Live Library and our own 'Places' folders of sounds and samples.

If you already got one tell me your experience with it, in terms of faster loading or also negative sides.

i got it for WIN7 - samples are in an external non_SSD, but check always load them into RAM - so get enough RAM
in all certain LL-Caches & Drives.

Yes! Install an SSD, Now!
this shit is amazing!

Harddrive and then replace it...

Moving from one set to another with gigs of samples? Very fast. Starting the software is very fast as are Library searches. The only pain is a month or two in you'll be taking it for granted and you'll forget how bad it was with stacks of spinning disks.

Get Samsung 840 Pro (I got the 512 GB model), best PC purchase I ever made. Huge boost in productivity. No regrets!

Practically instant start and load times, hardly any disc related errors.
