Is Live 5 MIDI Clock sync really bad, or is it just me?
Is Live 5 MIDI Clock sync really bad, or is it just me?
I have the Global tempo set to 225, but my receiving device is saying 226-229, which, needless to say, is screwing with it, tremendously.
I know the clock in Live 4 wasnt the best, but it wasnt THIS bad.
obviously delay is useless for fixing this...it simply "delays" the issue.
Live 4 was much more stable for clock sync, and that was one of its really positive attributes.

Hi folks,
at first I moved this thread into the "Bugs and Problems" forum.
Secondly, please let us concentrate on the problems you have with MIDI clock and not discuss any kind of ReWire issue.
computo,
- what exactly is the setup you use? (Computer hardware, operating system, audio interface, MIDI interface)
- If I understand you right you use Live 5 as MIDI clock master to sync an external MIDI device. You set a fixed tempo of 225 in Live 5 but on your external device it jumps between 226 - 229?
Because you wrote it was not the bets already in Live 4, how did it behave there using exactly the same setup? (same audio and MIDI interface, same buffer sizes, similar CPU usage,...)
Skylit,
- what exactly is the setup you use? (Computer hardware, operating system, audio interface, MIDI interface)
- Do you use Live as MIDI clock Master or as slave?
- Do you also have a Live 4 version? if yes, how did it behave there?
mosca,
regards,
Alex

mosca,
Can you explain a bit more detailed what you do and what happens?try a microkorg and listen to those arps drift off out of time

Hello, Alex!
- My setup consists of a Pentium M 1.6GHz laptop, 512MB RAM, Windows XP Home and an Edirol FA-101 firewire MIDI/audio interface.
- I use Live 5 Demo as a master to sync another laptop running Live 4.
- We've tried it with Live 4 as well, and everything was perfect, the sync was rock-solid.
When my boxed Live 5 arrives, I'll investigate it further and post here if I discover anything else about this issue. Thank you for your support.
Regards,
Vytis
