Adding effects to single pads?

Post by reynolds101 » Tue Oct 01, 2013 3:37 am

How can you add an effect to an individual pad for example, in a drum rack with percussion. Im trying to add an echo effect to a bongo pad but I just want to have the effect on that one pad, not the entire drum rack. Thanks.

Not exactly sure if it can be done on Push as of yet. I haven't thought to try this on Push yet. AFAIK you can only place an effect on a track in front of or behind the current MIDI device.

It's already possible:

- load a new drum rack and leave Browse mode
- select the pad you want to add an effect to by clicking on the according Selection Control button
- press the In button once (|-->)
- press Add Effect ...

Where are the "selection control" and "in" buttons located?

Ok I had the In/Out view disabled. So I see the In button, but I still dont know where the out button is? All that is next to it is Auto and Off. Please excuse my simpleton questions, I'm still learning how to use ableton along with push.

Selection Control buttons are the ones just below the display. In and Out buttons are just right to the Master button, In is below the Device button (the arrow to the right), Out button is below the Browse button (the arrow to the left). Have a look at the manual (https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/using-push/), there you have all the official terminology explained with pictures.
