Midi CC Bug with Push Knobs

Post by Syncretia » Wed Oct 02, 2013 1:27 am

I've been experimenting with mapping push knobs in User Mode today because I need to get some stuff sorted out for a live set. I think I might have found a bug. Just want to know if other people are experiencing this.

So, I mapped one of the top knobs to the cross fader. I found that when I cross fade from left to right, there is no issue. However, when I fade from right to left, it snaps the fader back the left. At first I thought this was just a problem with the cross fader but it also happens with Tempo.

It seems that the bug is that when turning a knob clockwise it is sending steady correct signal, but when you turn it counter clockwise, it is sending a much larger signal. Could someone else please test this to see if its just something wrong with my setup?

Thanks.

This is due to using the wrong mapping mode. When mapping an encoder to a parameter, turn the encoder to the left (and only to the left) slowly and this should cause Live to guess the correct mapping mode. You can verify this by looking in the lower left corner of Live’s window and ensuring that mapping mode is set to Relative (2’s comp.). You can change it via the drop-down menu if not.
