I second that. With what you have, you can already rock out. You just need something to keep the time going.

What u mean something to keep the time going?
Re: i want to know if its worth it?
learn the gear you have.
humans are the only animal capable of developing the urge to want to own things we don't actually need. more gear won't make you better, only practice will.
and beer.

Re: i want to know if its worth it?
you're a fine American.
look at peoples' signatures to see what gear is popular.

See. Now you want a keyboard.
...although considering what you have, that might be a good option.
Look up Novation Remote SL mkii

Re: i want to know if its worth it?
Not about wants if im going to be in the stufio for hours what should i have?
Re: i want to know if its worth it?
Well, *AFTER* you have been in the studio for hours/days/months you will know yourself if you need any additional gear or not.As in, why don't you just start the f*** out, practice, learn, practice, learn, learn more, learn even more, have fun and THEN see what you actually need ?thebreak100 wrote:Not about wants if im going to be in the stufio for hours what should i have?
That being said, i think this would be considered a typical basic setup:
- Laptop
- DAW (Ableton Live, Reaper, whatever)
- Audio interface
- Pair of monitors
- Midi controller
- Decent condenser microphone
And yeah, since you already have two specific Ableton controllers, an additional midi keyboard controller might make sense. But not just some random "midi piano".
Dude.Really.Take the time that is needed to find out what you REALLY need depending on the kind of music you're going to make, your musical chops etc. etc.Don't just buy a "midi piano" because you're too lazy to take the time to research what the difference is between said piano and other midi keyboard controllers and which one suits you better.
That's about it, if you already have everything from the list above either invest your money in beer, or better keep it and start to actually make some music.

If you have a computer, you don't necessarily need any gear.
Exploit what you have and find the limitations.
Some days, use neither controller.
Other days use one, or the other.
And even other days use both.
You sound like you don't entirely know how to use what you have.
And that money you aren't sure if you'll have later on, might come in handy on that day in the future where you need it.
Decide what you want to use the gear for. Those can each be pretty fun live. But when you perform live, you're usually performing things you've been tinkering with for hours on end in the computer by yourself. Learning your 'craft'.
So when you Do go play it out in front of people, it won't matter what you're using. By then you'll know exactly How you want to control your set. And not asking.
If you have the APC, I'd strongly advise against getting another mixer until you know How to use the APC as one. Because it already is more than capable of being one.
Those novelty touch strips. I don't think they'd offer much extra functionality in Live itself.
But yeah. Do your dopest on the computer. Have your devices connected and try Not to use them. You'll quickly realize why you have the controllers. Because they make it easier to control 10 things at once than just a mouse and qwerty. Once you Do start reaching for that shit. You'll have a blast.

Replace it all and get a push...., That seems to be the hot ticket and newest whiz bang deelie on the market.
Or wait for the new Maschine Studio. That has more coloured things on it with the extra screens so it will look way cooler in a studio.
Also, something with moving faders, more is better. That will always excite the senses.
