do you like sawtooth?

Post by vonGardener » Sat Oct 05, 2013 8:43 am

In this thread i would like to start a discussion whether a sawtooth is a pleasant wave form to you or not. My opinion is, that a sawtooth is a very good way to make a song aggressive, a melody dirty and the rhythm snappy (some friends of mine could kill me for merely uttering the word sawtooth 8) ). What do you think?

Hold it, what direction is the sawtooth going in this questionnaire?

What direction do you prefer?
I prefer a saw16 from the operator (or equivalent) in downward direction. And i am talking about a normal Oscillator not an LFO though that might be an option to modulate it.
Of course it is recommendable to put a sine curve in the sub frequency to add a little more punch.

What do you think?

okay, i definitely love saw tooths #narf

Its a pleasant waveform, but i prefer a mix of more the one oscillator. and detuning a lil bit is a must 4 me

yes. there is no better way that i know of than to put a sine curve in the sub frequencies to push the bass. But to perfectly shock your listener with an incredible harsh sound the sawtooth does a really good job :D

thank good we have a sawtooth. 8)
