Ableton's sound pack production

Post by Dom Murphy » Sun Oct 06, 2013 10:56 am

Falls well below the quality I would expect. I bought Suite because I wanted the instruments that come with it but there are far too many sample based ones which are below standard in terms of production.

Previously I've posted about one of the sampled guitar sounds that has a click when the sound loops along with another sound which also has the same problem. I can attest that going into the Sampler to fix these clicks can really pull you out of the creative zone and all that was required was to put SNAP on. Baffles me as to why this isn't on in the first place.

Today I decided to use the Double Bass Section and playing A1 note has noticeable loop point and going down an octave, A0 has an even more pronounced loop. If you're aiming to do any tonal work without other instrumentation then these loops stick out like a sore thumb.

I seriously expect better than this for the money these things cost. Maybe I'm just picking the runts of the litter?

:(

While we are bitching about it i ll just say that I too am unimpressed with the sounds, confused hierarchy, and bloated size to performance ratio of the ableton packs.

There i said it.
ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

Quit whining and synth your own sounds.
If you're so mad that you don't have everything pre-made for you, then why don't you just make it yourself?

That said, if there are are glaring errors, how about complaining directly to Abes? They can be responsive at times.

ok i see what you mean. Make your own sounds with a synth.

How presumptuous of you.

@ Noble Nemesis - Oh shit! How silly of me. I'll just call up the London Philharmonic, get them to pop over and record them live and direct. Why had I not considered that earlier. Silly me.

Oh yeah, quit being a prick.
