Dear
I’m on a Mac and close to buy Ableton Live 9 Std.
Because I already bought Native Instruments 'Komplete 9 Sample Library' (got it 30% off from a local dealer) I ask for any experience regarding Ableton Live and Komplete. Most of the time I produce genres Pop, Funk, Soul with instruments like piano, bass, guitar string parts, brass parts etc.
How will Live 9 and Komplete 9 work together?
So if, it is possible to save the settings of a chosen VST (au) instrument in Ableton Live to an project, or will get the VST instrument and their settings lost after closing Live?
Additionally, could you please recommend any good Midi Keyboard Controller for Live? Size is important to me, so a recommended 25 or 37 keys layout will be fine.
Thank you for your help!
Regards
JR

Re: Live 9 and Komplete 9
The Komplete package works just fine with Ableton. Anything you create, tweak, setup, map, control, edit etc is all saved with your live project and ready for the next session.
If you can consider the cost, push is a great midi controller. I have used control surfaced, MPD, keyboards and the likes for years and I thought playing instruments on pads instead of keys would suck but the way push can lock scales and switch between keys and drums seemlessly is so inspiring for new ideas. Best controller I have used in years.
Then there is maschine for the Komplete package which I don't own or have used but reading others experiences and seeing its possibilities it looks like a fine partner.
Rest assured that with what you would have just with Live and Komplete you have enough to really get going and make some killer Tunes.
