mapping aftertouch (pressure) to an effect parameter

Post by A^3 » Sun Mar 31, 2013 7:18 pm

Got my push on Friday and I've been loving it, with small bouts of frustration kicking in every now and then.

I'm currently trying to map Push's pressure tracking to the monolake formant filter's "formant" knob, but I really don't have a clue where to begin (thanks for the documentation Dennis DeSantis...). My question however, is more general than that really; is it possible to route/map Push's note mode aftertouch to whatever parameter you want in Live, instead of just routing the AT through an instrument (or anything else that natively accepts AT)?

There is an m4l midi effect that can control parameters. It accepts aftertouch, pitchbend, mod wheel, etc. I'm pretty sure at least.

Edit: had to open Live to check haha. In M4L Essentials, 'Expression Control' device.

Just checked it out myself too. Should've looked through my M4L stuff first before posting, but thanks!

This seems great, but it doesn't work for Aftertouch mapping. It maps, but when playing there is no modulation. Suggestions? I run a Nocturn keyboard, though.

Yes, all 64 pads of the centre area support aftertouch.
