works very well, makes a huge difference getting rid of the pink

but, i was mistaken in thinking it would allow changing colors as well

color hacking is still necessary, for me, since the white is too bright for my eyes

nice work Ableton!

I had just signed up for the Beta... but it says it's full now?

To answer the first question, the calibration tool helps a ton. My pads were not very bad but now they are almost perfect.
You will still have to hack the colors. The tool so for just adjusts the Red and Green levels with the master volume knob during calibration. You select a pad then visually match it to the others one at time. It's hard to get it perfect buy you can get a pretty good balance going (it will never be perfect due to imperfections in manufacturing any LED, especially cost effective ones).

Just used it and agreed. BIG DIFFERENCE! Brightness control would be a plus.
Next lets get an LCD contrast calibration tool!

It's included with the 9.1 beta.

Yep. Should fix some issues people are having.

I only had a couple of slightly pink pads that didn't bother me too much but would stand out from the crowd. The tool is very simple to use and using the Before/after switch to compare the result made a obvious difference. I cannot even tell which pads had an issue now. Great option.

It made my pinkish pads more like the others. I may have to tweak it a little to get it exact, as the whites turned sort of greyish on a few pads, but it's pretty close to perfect now. I haven't yet seen any cases where the calibration has caused other colour modes to look off.

Wrong link. This is the proper one:

I don't know if it's currently open or not, though.

The beta is open to all, and still running as far as I can tell. They're pretty quick to reply to bug reports.
