Hello everyone:
I am running a Mac G4 (OS9). I just installed Ableton Live. Whenever I launch Live, my computer freezes (locks up) on my first mouse click. Then I have to reboot the computer.
Occasionally it will lock up for only 30 seconds or so on the first mouse click, but then lock up permanently on the second mouse click, requiring me to reboot the computer.
What could be causing this?
Thanks for your help.
David

Hello Harb:
Thanks for you reply. I have Live version 2, but not 2.03. I will have to get that. I do have an ASIO driver. As a matter of fact, it is interesting you ask because I disabled a lot of extensions and now Live no longer locks up UNTIL I select my PCI-324 driver (after I select ASIO).
However, it won't actually let me select my PCI-324 driver. The instant I click it, I have to reboot my computer.
One question...when you say "trash my preferences" do mean system extensions? Or is this something else.
Thanks again for your reply.

David,
Please update to 2.03 before doing anything else, it will save you time.

I do not mean system extensions, that could be very bad...
The preferences are located in the System folder>Preferences folder.
In the Preferences folder you will find preferences for most of what is installed on your computer. Please try trashing the Ableton Preferences.cfg
Also try trashing the PCI-324 Prefs.

Thanks Harb:
It turns out I do have 2.03. I got rid of my Live preferences and MOTU PCI-324 preferences. No change. There is just something there that Live doesn't like. I have an email out to Ableton tech-support. They asked for my Log.txt file from my Ableton preferences. We will see!
Thanks again for your response.
