sporkles wrote:myrnova, could you just briefly state your aim with this thread? You've already communicated your opinion that there is a schism between 'music' and the 'sound' that results from the music. It's not hard to grasp, we all get what you're saying. It's just that nobody really gives a fuck. Speaking of the sound that emanates from our loudspeakers after the radio hosts have announced an artist name and a song title as 'music' is simply practical.

In what type of social context do find it useful or necessary to insist upon the difference between music and sound?

Then, of course - maybe as an attempt to strengthen your points, I don't know - you go ahead and brazenly declare that Europeans know this difference, while Americans don't. Then you proceed to get completely caught up in my use of the word "we" in my entirely facetious comment which referenced the previous thread on the topic (which also went nowhere), and in the process label me an "angloamerican" without any basis (I'm neither "anglo" nor American). I'm not even going to get into your attempt to lecture the rest of the world on the meaning of English words and your complete failure to see the irony in your bigoted world view when you label Americans as slow-witted racist warmongers.

I just want to know:

What is your mission, man?
My "aim" is double:

(1) to demonstrate that "timbre" is not an element of music, as americans here claim (and that is why they keep on calling sound "music").
(2) to prove they are trolling me because they cannot accept my antiamericanism (they call it "prejudice" or whatever)

So, once I will eventually be banned by the american moderator, it will be the umpteenth prove I was right, both on american arrogance (americans here are 89% and behave like they are "the masters", typical yankee attitude: mocking foreign people habits, laughing for their mistakes in english, talking about idiot american tv shows or idiot movies that we ignore in 8 topics out of 10, etc.). Of course, I proved I was right on music, too (which has nothing to do with "timbre modification", as americans claim).
You're right about nothing you're just a fucking idiot.

I'm starting to think maybe you don't like America. Which is a shame because I love Italian stuff like bread and salad dressing and jogging suits.

(1) I like americans, of course. But the U.S.A. are the new nazis, alas. A real danger for the world. You should understand that anarchists like me don't hate "countries", but WAR (soldiers, religions, kings, governments, dictators, capitalists and such shit). So, it is a natural consequence our deep disliking of the bloody U.S.A. criminal war policy. I don't consider the U.S.A. "a land", but a military dictatorship (that's what it is, just learn history). For instance, the fact I dislike the nazis and the nazi tiranny in germany does not mean I don't like "germany and the germans" (for what it means). Of course, I dislike german neonazis. Not because they are "germans", but because they are neonazi. At the same time, I am antifascist (and fascism is an italian "invention", so to speak). This does not mean I dislike "Italy and italians", understand? I will never have a toast and cheer with italian fascists "because they are italians like me", I just burp in front of their faces. Understand? Everyone should do like that. I don't think it is so difficult to understand... even if you are not an anarchist or a communist (this is called "antifascism").

(2) If you tell me: "I hate italian fascists" I reply: "good! You are right", I don't think you have "prejudice against italians", and of course I am happy for you, I don't feel "hurt". Viceversa, if you tell me "I hate italian fascists and south american dictators because they are not real arians, I am a KKK member and I only accept german nazis or anglo pure breed guys", I just think "what an asshole", american or not american  . The same if you told me "I hate italians because they are all fascists and mafia men" (this is called "xenophobia").

(3) So: I don't understand why when I talk about the bloody criminal U.S.A. policy ALL the users from U.S.A. here feel generally hurt 8O or react like pussies, have agressive reactions, start trolling, insulting, calling names, mocking me or posting american flag pictures, "GO USA", "I LOVE U.S.A.", "AMERICAN AND PROUD" slogans, threads about "how democratic, deeply multicultural, hospital and free are the States" etc. As if they needed to demonstrate (to me? To themselves? To the rest of the world?) that their mental fairy tale is true. Maybe this is the famous "american dream"?  Anyway, this is rather... pathetic. I mean, not only the racist americans, conservative guys, soldiers and such (that is understandable), but even the ones who claim "I dislike my criminal state, death penalty, corporations, military policy and I understand well why the rest of the world hates us". Often they react in this way: at first they claim "I am even more critical than you of U.S.A., but you are ignorant and generalize about MY country, so I cannot agree with you and your statements, because you know nothing about MY land, MY people...". Then they start ridiculous "matches" like "Italy Vs U.S.A." ("american cars are better", "american pizza is ace", "italian movies sucks, but I admit you make nice jogging suits" etc.) as if I started a war between these two populations because I am italian and wanted to show that Italians do it better or smth. I am not that idiot: "nationality" (the place where you were born) is just casuality. So the ones who are "proud" of their "nation" are naive, ignore their random condition in this life and are easily brainwashed by lords of war (this is called "nationalism")

(4) Why every american (even so called "liberals") feel hurt when a stranger dares to talk in these terms about the U.S.A. (so called "amtiamericanism") and automatically consider it "an offence", "generalization", "prejudice" etc.? In my opinion: because of powerful brainwashing war propaganda of the state on the entire american population ("whites", "blacks", "rich", "poor", "young", "old", "progressive", "conservatives"... anyone). This massive propaganda influences deeply their feeling about "the nation", "the flag", "god bless america" and such idiotic pseudonazi crap. They are manipulated by this propaganda, concluding that the state means "the country" and "the land" (the people). This is typical war propaganda, and the U.S.A. is, alas, a state based on war (the most dangerous and criminal nation in human history ever: not because of its "evilness", but because of its power). That is why american people are generally so nationalist and "patriotic" (this is called "war propaganda").

(5) The ones who hate someone because of his nationality, ethnicity etc. are the fascists, because they believe that the world has different "races" and the concept of "nation" is something natural (given by "god": "gott mit uns", and the pseudonazi "god bless america"...). I don't. I am internationalist, and an anarchist. I don't give the slightest fuck of whatever "nationality", actually. It is simply USELESS, for me. As useless and dangerous as the concept of "race" (this is called "fascism").

(6) When I listen to "national anthems" I usually laugh. When I watch the U.S. president claiming "god bless america", it reminds me hitler's "gott mit uns", mussolini's slogan "dio, patria, famiglia" ("god, land, family") and such idiots. Americans, on the contrary, when watch this crap and their flag, generally get moved and become serious, calling a bunch of criminals "heroes", salute the troops, put their hands on heart and start singing full of inspiration and gratitude  Do U.S. citizens realize that all this shit is just war propaganda?! As far as I can see, at least 80-90% of them NO, they don't realize it. They are brainwashed by this continuous manipulation of their mind since they are kids (in school, in sport events, through mass media and always frightened with this "fear of the enemy" created by the state for legitimating war: for instance, once it was "the reds", nowadays the enemy is "the evil arab"). Only 10-20% of people living in America are aware of the facts, know well there's no "evil terrorist" menacing U.S. at all (but millions of poor people suffering and dying because of U.S. terrorism) and are conscious about the real U.S.A. (war, exploitment, racism, expansionism and imperialism). These are the african american organizations and a few libertarians (intellectuals, hackers, writers, poets, socialists etc.). But they have not enough power to change things in America, and are considered "unamericans" by the vast majority of americans. Sometimes (...often) the CIA kill them or put them in prison. Some other times the CIA orders to hollywood to make propaganda movies against them (see for instance the new shameful idiot CIA-Hollywood pro-U.S. war propaganda movie about Assange and Wikileaks) (this had to be called "revolution").

myrnova - for someone who doesn't hate America, you sure seem to hate America a lot. Please expand on this observation with morbid detail, I'm genuinely curious to know how you REALLY feel.
