Melodic Hip-Hop WIP - Advice wanted

Hey,
Released a little WIP months ago, and now I want to finish it. I literally have no idea what to call it and if I should see if I can add vocals or ask a friend to rap over it. Advice? Also, is this hip-hop or some other weird cross-genre? I think these questions really reveal my musical preferences, lol.

In my opinion you've created a chillout track. I would say, it is miles away from hiphop, but if you would call it a chillout track, it's okay.

I have also an advice for you, go on with your mashup's. your october ultramix is really cool. I am looking forward to hear it tomorrow while I'm working.

Hey man, your kicks are fat and ( i appreciate crisp drums) you should definitely add vocals. i have 3 different songs that are completely different but all use rihannas "Umbrella" song. So try adding vocals and change the pitch.
It would be cool to add more instruments such as a piano.

I quite like it, the volume of the pad synth is very noticeable on my setup.
I agree with the last post, some vocals and extra ambiance would be cool.

Thanks guys! I am going to work on this track at my school, add ambiance, add some piano lines and finish it up! I love the advice here, so helpful. If any of you need some help with your tracks, send me some links and I will help you out.

The drums are hip hop. I guess melodic hip hop isn't too far off but it should have more rhythm focus even for that.

Hip-hop is a tough category really, kind of like how punk is a very hard category to capture.
