Is it possible to use, for instance, the Waves Rcompressor, and set up a sidechain input in Live?
I haven't found the answer to this in the forum and doubt it's possible, but hope that it is..
Thanks!

Re: 3rd party Side chain compression?
It depends on the compressor. Some have extra inputs to receive audio and some don't.
For RCompressor it looks like it isn't currently supported for Live:
The 2nd dropdown window in an audio tracks "Audio To" is where you can route the audio to the compressor in another track.

Re: 3rd party Side chain compression?
waves support sidechaining in VST3 hosts.. Live implements VST2.4....
that said....I can use audio/sidechain inputs on my native instruments plugins
recently.. VST2.4 API has been discontinued by Steinberg
so I'm guessing Ableton would implement VST3 support eventually
VST3 hosts are Cubase... Nuendo...Studio1...Sonar X3..Adobe Audition
