Ablility to slice beat up then assign to midi keyboard.

you can do that already - in at least two different ways.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

well, you can cut up your beat in the arrange window and then put the slices into the impulse. Or you can make clips that reference each part of the beat and then assign midi keys to launch them.
