hey there,
ive been using ableton for the last couple years and i just downloaded a trial version of cubase 7, and im loving it. there are some old stuff that i did in ableton, that i wish to complete in cubase. the way that i transfered the audio, was i rendered each individual track and then imported into cubase (not sure if this is the best way, but its all i could come up with). some of it seemed to work, i however have a midi kick with delay on it, which is in perfect time in ableton, when i import the audio into cubase, it starts to go off time from the click after a minute or so.
i feel like this is an easy fix, but like i say im really new to cubase. any suggestions on how to efficiently transfer the audio..?
muchly appreciated,

taking audio/midi from ablton 9 and using it in cubase
Re: taking audio/midi from ablton 9 and using it in cubase
did you freeze or flatten the track in Live before you exported?
i would try that first.
also, are you repeating the file in Cubase? meaning do you have, say..., a 4 bar clip (exported) that you have repeated multiple times on the Cubase timeline or just one long kick/drum track?
oh and... Cubase 7 is nice huh?

i didnt freeze the track. like i say, im pretty new to the multi daw thing. i havent found much to help on the internet.
to answer yer question, i tried both. i made a 4 bar clip, but when i transfered it, because i am using a delay from ableton, it cuts out at the begining of the next 4 bar segment. so, from there i just exported the whole midi segment, which is a few mins long of a delay kick, and thats where it would go out of sync. the further down the timeline it got the more out the kick beat would get. what exactly does freezing do?
also, i love cubase 7. only been a couple days, and alot of hours of learning thus far, but its fun

Freezing locks the effects into the track. That should help.
If not, then you can record your MIDI track plus effects by routing the output into an audio track. That'll work for sure as far as the delay is concerned... but would be a lot of work if you have too many tracks where this is happening.
