audio to midi tool? kick drum audio to midi note? (live 8)
quick question;
does anyone know a tool for converting audio to midi (using Live 8 )?
im working with some live drums, but i'd like to reinforce the kick drum with a thicker synthesized kick.
a tool that can focus on a particular frequency (the kick drum) and use this to create a midi message.

Why do yo not use SLICE TO MIDI?
You can choose the number of beats, you have every single beat of the audio drumclip in an simpler and you can edit separately with effects.
You can also drag another kick sample from your sample library into the kick simpler, so you can swap single components of your drum audio.

im working in arrangement view, with large sections of audio (with loose live drums).
the tool im looking for can detect audio and spit out a midi note.
i know Logic can do it, in a long-winded and offline way. but im sure some clever cookie has worked out a way to achieve the same results in Live. maybe using a Max patch?

Google "drum replacer" or "drum replacement"; several out there like drumagog, Toontrack have one too, i think.

I would "+1" this solution. Even if you're a beginner with Max it is so well explained that makes it a really nice way to get into it, and it works even if you do some editing.antarktika wrote:Some assembly required: https://www.ableton.com/en/blog/drum-re ... -max-live/samtastic wrote:maybe using a Max patch?
