Mutiple midi channels from one midi clip

Post by kiff » Sat Aug 06, 2005 11:39 am

Hi,
On my previous sequencer I had a particular track that sent out control changes to multiple channels. How do you do this in Ablton live?
There does not appear to be any option for this.
Thanks
Kiff

Your kiding right? Live is a toy, go back to your old sequencer to use pro features. Midi support right now is laughable at best.

Well no I'm not kidding .... I'm new at this and I'm just hoping for rational replies that don't just bag the product. You obviously don't know how to work around this so your post isn't helping. This "Toy" as you put it is being used by some very savvy people, and I'm sure one of them will ultimately shed light on my small problem. I expect we will all be thrilled by you next posting, as I'm sure everyone reading this already knows that you are capable of writing sortware at this level, but regardless of your comments to come, the forum will continue, as will Ableton, so thanks for your contribution.
If you think it's a joke, don't post here.

unfortunately you can't do that right now using live alone. Not a deal breaker for me, tho. I find live's other charms outweigh those sorts of limitations. I mean, the fact that you can automate anything on a per clip basis is pretty amazing when it comes to stuff like this.

or, if you want to send the same cc to multiple tracks, you could just make one clip, copy it as many times as needed and throw it on a track for each thing you want to control.

OR, you might try something like control aid to do exactly what you are assking for. I'm not savy on how to use stuff like that, but there are other cats here who can probably fill you in.

For PC check out Midi Translator...Live is not a toy...It just needs some things intergrated. It is still by far one of the most amazing DAW's I ever seen, the ease of use is also far greater than just about anything else out there.

Gigatron

Please go back to your pro forums and stop whining here.

Your nonconstructive criticism of Live doesn't do anyone any good, and only serves to make you look like a fool.

Leave this forum to those of us using toys.

Thank you.
