axissport,
could you better explain what you refer to as "Default Sounds Folder"
are you referring to the Sounds folder that is saved with a saved Live Set?
such as "AxisSong1.als" and the folder "AxisSong Sounds".
If so, those sounds folders are saved in the same directory with the Live Set .als that they reference. So if you want to make sure those sounds get saved to your F drive, then you will need to save your Live Set .als's there as well.
i do not think you mean the default recording folder, as you've said you are familiar with how to change that in the Preferences.
re: LivePacks,
as far as i know the way that preset browsing has been modified in Live 5, the waveforms from LivePacks and the .adv / .adg preset files that reference them must be stored in the Library folder that is made upon Live 5 installation.
I hope this helps.

I recently purchased Live and in general find the manual and tutorials helpful. However I'm confused about how to change the default sounds folder.
Right now it's in the Ableton folder on my system drive. I'd like to put on my
external drive. But how do I tell Live to save files and look there? There is nothing in preferences about default folder, just a temp folder for recording.
So if I want to keep my Live sound folder in F:\audio files\Live sounds how do I make that the default?
Also can Library packs be moved in the same way?If so how?
thanks
