I know Lacie`s HDs, i recently bought a studiodrive firewire but is sooo big and i want some HD to play live, it is so heavy too, but works at 7200
I asked myself if a 4200rpm firewire HD is suitable to handle the audio clips using Ableton Live¿?¿
Thx anyway ;)

i bought a firewire hd casing from newmotiontech.com and it holds my former internal 20gb 7200rpm drive. works perfectly under OS9 and OSX.
some folks told me that if i format it with HFS instead of HFS+ it works even faster.

try it. it's cheap and flexible.

60 gig 7200 rpm external firewire HD, and it's small (compared to some of the big beasts) for US $164. i have one and it works like a dream.
