How to make Progressive House filter drop?

Post by Daniel Fantom » Mon Nov 11, 2013 10:11 am

Hey all,

I've been trying to get this specific filter drop sound that a bunch of big producers are using and I can't figure it out.

For example, in the song "Take Me Home" by Cash Cash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDo2SiW3JHU) from 0:07-0:14 and then after the drop 1:14 -1:30 on the bass/synth.

PLEASE any help on this would be really useful!!

Filter drop? I don't hear anything being filtered at all there!

Seems to me that you don't actually know what a filter is....

If you're talking about the "tape stop" effect, then there are plenty of posts here, or links (inc videos) available via a quick Google search.

Have fun, learn the terminology......and try to be original rather than copy others.

Below is a video on how to do what you are after.

It is cool to copy others while you are learing the ropes. But the song you are copying is shite like a ringtone. Copy Lone, Kona Triangle, Lazersword, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin or something good, not ringtone songs.
