Ipad with ableton?
Ipad with ableton?
In your opinions, what are the best apps for my ipad to use with ableton?
I'm new to this but have a large IT knowledge base so the setup/ installation etc probably wont be an issue.
3 things to get me started would be lovely, and a short description of what I'd use said app for.
(I fully understand that as I develop with the program I will probably identify specific apps with specific uses, I'm just looking for ideas right now)
Currently working on a couple of dnb tracks and some funky house, however, stuff thats good for electronic music in general should suffice, until I get a little more direction and the ability to get more specific.
Thanks for any help guys

Re: Ipad with ableton?
Yeah lemur app is amazing, I've been running shove (push emulator) with a 2nd iPad running MU (ableton controller) great combo. Also have livecontrol on lemur which is great too. Touchable is another one that's good but sick of waiting for the update which looks like a push type thing, but got shove so well happy with that. You also get loads of synths on iPad which are great.

Cheers Guys
I was looking at touchable online and although it looks like it does a lot of stuff, I have the same concerns looking at the last update time. Also, looking on their forum there are no posts for ages unless I'm in wrong place.
Lemur looks like it has a lot of functionality and until your replies I had no idea it existed so thanks a bunch for that
I'm also gonna have a look at Shove and MU once i've played with Lemur
I'll get it installed and see what I can do with it, cheers..

Don't know if this has been posted here before:
The latest I know of about touchable 2 (in german though):

edit: it is already submitted to apple and should come out this week?!

Having a little trouble sourcing Shove and MU... are they apps on the store?
Touchable 2 is released in 'the coming weeks' so I'm gonna hold off on lemur I think, if its still not released in new year I'll go lemur

I can vouch for Touchable being a great app to use to control Live. The lateset iteration was rock solid and hasn't crashed once.
Really looking forward to the update.

Can any of the other controller apps do more than Lemur? Are they at least on par with Lemur?

Guess not.
My feeling is that Lemur used to be THE touch screen DAW controller but you had to buy the hardware for $2,500. Now you get the exact same experience on an iPad but people are “A $40 app!?!? Hold up there chief!”

Re: Ipad with ableton?
Only reason I bought an iPad was for lemur alone, soon as that app was released I got one. Best investment ever! My friend has 2 real ones the lucky git but now I'm the one with the latest software etc and he can't update some stuff.
