Ableton Live 9 Intro freezes when Nio 2/4 connected

Hope someone can help here. I have raised it with tech support but still waiting. I have a NIO 2/4 soundcard. Just bought new laptop with windows 7 and Ableton Live 9 Intro. All works fine through laptop soundcard. I connected my Nio 2/4 and set audio preferences in Live for it but it just freezes the program. Googled for answers and found a software update for Nio on their website and installed that. I can get the Nio to work fine with Audacity but Ableton still crashes. Any ideas please?

Next question is if I can't get Nio to work, then what is a good cheap (hobby/home use only) soundcard to buy that does work with windows 7 and Ableton Live 9. Don't want to buy another to find that won't work either. Thanks for looking folks.

OK so no-one could help me but I'm gonna reply so that anyone else searching for the same probelme will know how I sorted it. I raised a case with Ableton and they suggested that Live was losing contact with the Nio device and recommended I used Asio4all device driver. I installed that and still got crashes. I searched internet and found someone had said Nio doesn't work with USB 3 connections. So tried USB 2 and it's all working fine. Hope this helps someone else.
