Automation / Modulation for Group Tracks

Post by Tympanic » Fri Nov 22, 2013 11:45 am

hi there,

a question i hope the forum can answer is,
how one can automate / modulate devices (FX)
hosted in group tracks within clips.

as it is of now, one has no way (at least i know of)
to automate sends/volume/pan or devices in the group
track in clip envelopes.

Anyone in here who´s having an idea how to proceed
with that situation?

cheers
I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

>v< - that´s the question today

...the work of production is reduction...

you can't directly on groups, but you can on classic audio track.
so what you can do is either making a "manual old way" group by setting up in io all outputs of some tracks to a new one
and activate monitor in on that one. or if you wanna keep the actual groups, re-route their outputs to a new track same way.
it's a bit sad groups don't accept dummy clips directly imo, often creating 2x more threads to workaround, but that's the way it was designed, to 'avoid confusion' as they are not supposed to have clips.
but once you did a new routing, on that new 'classic audio tracks you can put your fx and a dummy clip that won't be heard while activated but that can modulate/automate stuff with envelloppes as usual.
