Can I change how pack presets load by default?
Can I change how pack presets load by default?
Hello,
So when I load pack preset kits(more specifically, the Bomblastic drum kits), the Simpler inside Drum Rack defaults to the usual -12db volume, etc., and I'm wondering if I can change how those preset kits load by default. I already know how to change the default Simpler inside Drum Racks for dropping samples into the cells by copying the desired Simpler into User Library>Defaults>Dropping Samples>On Drum Rack, but that doesn't seem to affect loading preset kits from packs.
So is this possible? And not just for Drum Racks, but everything else as well?

Umm... well, you could
- open a kit
- choose one cell
- set volume to desired value
- right clock
- "copy to siblings"
- save the kit.
I don't know if it would change the kit in the pack, but you'd have the same kit with the defaults value in your User Library
Does that sort your problem?

Hey, thanks for replying. The Finn wrote:Does that sort your problem?
I was thinking about doing that but it seems like that'd be an annoying task to do for every pack/preset that I might wanna do it for. If that's the only way then I might do it but I'm just wondering if anyone knows a better way.

I am wondering too
I have noticed that in certain circumstances, Live ignores one's default settings.
For instance, if I create a new empty MIDI track in the normal way, my default track appears.
But if I create a MIDI track by dropping an instrument or effect into Live, it creates a MIDI track without my default settings
It looks as if the same could be true for your pack problem.

Hmm. Yeah, your situation sounds similar to mine. I've done some searching/manual reading but I can't seem to find anything about it so Idk. Hopefully someone who knows if it's possible will post. The Finn wrote:For instance, if I create a new empty MIDI track in the normal way, my default track appears.

Note: you will lose any previews if you do this. The Finn wrote:Umm... well, you could
