I thought it was neat too, but given how overblown the installation process is, I don't think it's worth it. I'm surprised it didn't ask me to restart my computer.
Makes me wonder if it installed some malware.

they did the same thing last year - if you sign up before the date, they just send you promo emails & add you to their mailouts no code, etc.. bit sneaky but it's free i guesssowhoso wrote:did you get the email "Waves Black Friday Starts Now?"mr.ergonomics wrote:does anyone has received it yet?? How do I even run the thing now?
I jumped through all the installation and licensing and registration and verification hoops, but now I only see the Waveshell VST installed, and when I add that to a track in Live, it doesn't seem to do anything. I see the device there, but nothing actually happens - no GUI window, nothing I can do to run any plugs.
Not impressed, Waves.

Re: Waves Renaissance Bass FREE!
What I did was make an alias of the actual RBass.dll as well and put it in my vst folder. Then when I loaded Live I had to run the Waves licenser
In 'Plugins' in the browser Waveshell appears like a folder and then inside it is the RBass plug.
While it does add sub nicely, it also steals keyboard focus. I was just testing Analog using the kb to trigger notes and when fiddling with the plug you can't trigger notes. I have to click somewhere on the Live interface to bring focus back.
There are other low-end exciters you can find if you don't want to deal with all these little annoyances.
Though according to these guys from a couple years ago there's no comparison: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/printview ... 38&start=0

Well I only had to load the Waves Licenser that one time; I was afraid I'd have to load it every time I load Live but I guess not...so alright I guess I'll keep it
