Hi,
I'm using Ableton in my live rig, using an Access Virus KC and Ableton Push as controllers.
When playing live, I often use multiple VST instruments, e.g. a bass and a lead part which I control with my Virus, and a pad or samples which I control with my Push.
Unfortunately, I'm facing two problems:
- I haven't found a way to define the MIDI input for a certain VSTi loaded in an instrument rack. The MIDI input can be defined per track, but is this also possible within an instrument rack? e.g. 3 VSTi's loaded in a rack: VSTi 1 and 2 should be controlled by the Virus and VSTi 3 by Push.
- Another 'solution' is to make two tracks, one with the Virus as the MIDI input and the other with Push as the MIDI input. Next, I'd group these tracks.
This would be fine with me, but apparently I can't select a group of tracks with Push or can't select multiple tracks with Push. It would be nice to use Push to scroll through the tracks, but now I have to reach for my laptop and select both tracks with the mouse. This isn't convenient at all during a live performance. Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance!
