Touchable 2 error: no server found

Post by mvloock » Fri Nov 29, 2013 11:01 pm

All,

i am looking forward to use touchable 2, however i am not able to connect with my PC.
I have windows vista, installed java and bonjour, yet when i launch touchable 2 on the ipad, after starting up live and touchable on the PC, i receive an error stating (no server found..)
My ipad and pc are on the same network and they are properly working (I have even an app that is able to take over my PC via my router, so there should be a connection between both of them).
I have installed already the latest version of the app.

Does anyone have a clue what is going on?

kind regards,
Marnix

I have exactely the same problem as the OP, only I'm still on XP. It works on my MacBook, on the PC I have no problem using LiveControl 2 or Shove. Both machines run Live 9.1
Filled in the form on the touchable site, but heard nothing so far...

Alright, I had the same problem and I'm running ableton on windows xp as well. The way I solved the problem was like this:

-make sure you have the bonjour service running under services (start-run and then type in services.msc)

-also make sure you go to windows firewall and under exceptions see to it that bonjour service is allowed there.

-also allow touchable as an exception in windows firewall

In my case the bonjour service was not allowed as an exception in windows firewall. The problem with windows is it is not allowed by default like in mac, I have a 2012 macbook pro as well and the setup was very smooth. Anyhow let me know if you still face any other problems.

I'm on Vista and the app doesn't find the server. I've tried your suggestions (both over wi-fi and ad-hoc)and it still doesn't work.Do you have any other suggestions?
