push aftertouch
hi, im new with push and dont figure out how to activate the aftertouch.
is it only an effect for some instruments? what i have to do to activate aftertouch?
tx!

Re: push aftertouch
Its a midi value that is sent out, like velocity. It is always sent. You have to have an instrument setup to respond to it though or it wont do anything. I.e. in a synth route aftertouch to modulate something, then you'll hear it
Re: push aftertouch
If you got M4L you can also use this device:
http://www.maxforlive.com/library/devic ... uch-device
to modulate with aftertouch any parameter in Live.

Re: push aftertouch
do you mean in a hardware synth?ezelkow1 wrote: i.e. in a synth, route aftertouch to modulate something, then you'll hear it
if so, how do we route Push to modulate aftertouch?

Re: push aftertouch
Push is like a midi keyboard with aftertouch, so if you set the aftertouch to control cutoff in your hardware synth, Push will modulate the parameter of your synth.ash wrote: do you mean in a hardware synth?

So you don't have to route nothing on Push.

ok, thanks..
but if i want to just use the Push pads to modulate a parameter in a software synth, do i set that via midi mapping?
can you explain how to set that up, so that in note mode when i'm playing across the pads,
that the aftertouch effect can be heard?
i can't find how to set the Push pads to globally do this.
thanks again

Re: push aftertouch
push will always output aftertouch. It is up to your soft/hard synth to respond to it. So in your softsynth wherever you setup modulation, be it either a modmatrix, midi mapping, whatever, you have to set aftertouch to do something in that synth. The specifics of how depend on which synth your using

thanks, think i got that,ezelkow1 wrote:push will always output aftertouch. It is up to your soft/hard synth to respond to it. but once i've got that setting to, say, apply pitch modulation to abletons 'analouge' synth,
will all push's pads apply the effect when in note mode?
it's this global effect application i can't find how to do.

Re: push aftertouch
yes they all will. So one thing is that push sends out poly-aftertouch, each pad can send out a different level all at the same time. Ableton however does not support this, so I think it just combines all AT input and will take the max.
Short answer, yes, every pad will output aftertouch. You dont have to enable it or change anything to get it working

Re: push aftertouch
cheers, will give that a go..
