My Goal:
I want to record midi on the fly after highlighting a couple measures and right clicking "insert midi clip". Usually this is easiest done by the use of a mouse & clicking in the midi notes. However, I would like to record the midi using the "Note" view of the push. When I try to record with the PUSH, it won't record inside the measure length I created as 'insert MIDI clip', instead it sends the midi signal back to the 'Session View' clip.
Scenario:
I'm in the arrangement view.
I got the "instrument rack" (with sample) opened up.
I highlight a couple of measures I want to record.
Then right click -> 'insert MIDI clip'
Lastly, I would usually press the "O" record button on the push & record with the metronome.
Problem:
Pressing the "O" would only activate recording on a CLIP back in Session View
Question 1:
How do I use the push so I can record inside the selected highlighted measure (which I insert MIDI clip by right clicking) & not have it record back in Session View?
Question 2:
Can the push be used to record clips on the fly in the arrangement view (using the instrument rack / sampler - with push displaying the 'Note' panel)? If the push can be used to make a new clip just by pressing the record button, can it automatically create a custom length clip in the arrange view while I play the midi?
How Do I: Record midi on the fly after "insert midi clip"?

The big "O" on Push is for recording to Session view. If you have Strays patch then Shift and the big O records to Arrange.
Push can record to Arrange by selecting the Arrange record button in the top transport.
