Copying from expired Live Trial to the full version?

Post by Deware » Mon Aug 26, 2013 1:57 pm

I was working on something in the Ableton trial when it expired but I just went ahead and bought the full ableton anyway but now im stuck with this work in the trial that I cant save and cant (seemingly) copy and paste from the trial window into the proper copy's window. Anyone know how I could get this work from the trial into full ableton? Or am I screwed

I'm guessing you've left the trail copy open and haven't closed it so that you can keep your work?
You could try to authorize the full copy while the set is still open, can't guarantee that will work but it's worth a shot.

I'm currently in the exact same situation.

I've contacted Ableton but am panicking that i won't be able to salvage this tune as it's a winner.

Did you not save your progress at all? I just moved from trial to suite and just loaded everything up as normal.. unless I'm missing something here?

Edit: Ignore me, i blinked when i got to the save bit :P

Oh damn.

As someone currently working in the live trial and planning on purchasing the full version it sucks to hear all of this, but I guess better to know now then find out later.

If I'd have thought that would be the way I probably just would have purchased the full version straight out. (I don't know why, but I always get the trial first even if planning to buy the full version essentially no matter what)

If anyone figures out how to solve this please post it (I'd hate to think I have only 6 days before my time runs out on the projects I've spent the last 3 weeks on especially with Christmas traveling and craziness coming up)

trial version

the turgid instructions suck. do ableton realise that most people who use this program aren't native english speakers? the trail download blurb doesn't say that you'll be stuck in ableton guidelines. I've done hours of tutorials on the net. opened trial version twice. ended up with a question marked icon and a program (which took me 90 minutes to download) I can't open.
