Similar to Push. Like a dog standing on its hind legs; it is never done well, but you're surprised it is done at all....

(So I guess I don't use step sequencing for Flamenco.)

On a serious note. How does Maschine step sequencing handle non 4/4 time signatures?

Correct.

Sounds like a style much more suited to playing in real-time.
