iPad
Re: iPad
Rumored Apple is coming out with an iPhone with a larger screen in 2014, the year my contract will be up so it should be time. But I think for the first time I’m going to have to go hold it first. Ergonomically I think the current iPhone is fine. Agreed a larger screen could be better for reading, but not at the cost of ergonomics (for my little girl hands).

Re: iPad
Thought it might be nice to have a retina iPad mini but seeing as they are only $100 cheaper than an Air it isn’t exactly an attractive purchase. Apple always gets shit for their prices but at some point in history they did drop the prices on their computers. If they do release a larger iPad Pro I hope they rethink their pricing because that’s too many options and I think the market is already over saturated with iPads and I don’t think just releasing a larger more expensive iPad is going to go over well with overall sales. I think the days of buying the latest and greatest just for the fuck of it is slowing down. Tablets, regardless of new features, are no longer exciting.

So, um, this is why the latest Android OS isn't on your fairly newish phone.

That's quite the process.
And why only 1.1% of Android users have Kitkat installed.

Re: iPad
yes, that process is very tedious and doesn't at all resemble Apple's eco friendly process of growing all natural organic cell phones.

This phone will be in full bloom in about a week, after being fertilized with iOS7 Grow™. It will be completely ripe when the finger print sensor is fully developed.
Once the phone blossoms and the square has fallen off it is carefully picked by Apple staff specifically selected for the task due to their small and ever so gentle hands.

After harvest, the excess foliage is removed from the back side of the blossom.

Don't worry kids, the phone can be put back on it's Thunderbolt stem so that it can be placed as a center piece and keep growing at your house or even in your car!

Re: iPad
I just added some songs to an iTunes playlist and rearranged the order just using my iPad Mini. Fairly easy process…if it didn’t keep crashing.
I know this isn’t a new process, but it’s new to me. I still mentally partially live in a world where you had to plug your idevice into a computer to do any-damn-thing. Still rocking an iPod Classic doesn't help.

wow... it's good to hear you can do something[/i ]easy besides make a purchase with that piece of shit iTunes.
i wanted to export some tracks to my USB flash drive to stick in the deck in my car... (remember this didn't work for me a few pages back)... here's how i ended up getting it to work...
change my library location to a folder on my desktop
export the files as .mp3
change library location back
STILL manually delete the duplicates in my library

Here’s another thing that pisses me off. I have 3 of my Macs setup to automatically download any new tracks I buy from iTunes. Cool shit. I mainly create playlists on my iMac but when I drag and drop one of those playlists to any of the other Mac’s iTunes it also installs all the tracks on that playlist despite the fact they are already in the library. This creates duplicates. Can’t the fucking thing just detect if the song is already in the library and if so not duplicate it?
FFS.
Re: iPad
I’m enjoying building my playlist at work on my iPad Mini bouncing between the Pandora, iTunes, and Music apps, but other than the Music app crashing when fiddling with the playlist it also sometimes stops Pandora like I’m trying to play a track on the Music app. This is fucking up my work DJ duties. People don’t know what to do when there is a break in a sea of continuously streaming music.
Also the downscaled interface on the iPad Mini from the regular iPad makes some of the functions too small and close to each other so it’s easy to tap the wrong thing.
Lastly, I buy way too much fucking music so it’s nice when I go to buy a track on iTunes and get the “Hey fuckface, you already bought this.” popup.
Not so great when I get that popup and the song still doesn’t show up in my library.

Re: iPad
So I guess Logic can’t send MIDI from one track to another.
What I want to do: Use a step sequencer to trigger samples in Damage in Kontakt.
Why: Damage has some very unique percussion kits that would benefit from some programming that’s more than tapping in a beat. Drawing shit in on a piano roll would also be mostly useless. I don't know where an exploding car windshield would work, if at all. With a grid based step sequencer you could quickly put note on/offs to see what works.
I was hoping I could even use Ultrabeat’s step sequencer but from what I can tell no dice.
Is this something I could do in Live? Obviously I can’t use Ultrabeat in Live but I could use something like Geist.
Yes, I thought the iPad thread was the right place to post this.

Re: iPad
You can definitely send MIDI from one track to another. It's been a while but I'm certain it can be done, if not through a straightforward method then with a little environment tinkering.
What version are you on?

I’m on Logic Pro X. The only reference I found similar to my needs Google searching was one thread referencing Logic 9 and the poster thought tooling around in the environment might make it work but the response was you couldn’t even do that with the environment.
And honestly how fucking hard can it be for any DAW to include a simple grid based step sequencer as standard issue. It’s not something exotic.

Re: iPad
Ok yeah, looks like MIDI output from virtual instruments isn't supported in Logic.
