Many thanks Alex & Co .
I know what you mean Per Boysen.
I've been messing around with Operator in the Live 5 demo and it definately gets better the more you experiment with it.
Especially one you start getting cretive with clip envelopes on all the parameters .
Operator is a definate grower.
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....

2 things I don't understand:
- why can't you check out which Live Pack installs which files? it now seems you simply don't know so if you install lots of Love Packs you won't have a glue. that's not a good system imo.
- most of the demo songs are asking to remove the unreferred samples. that;s no good, it's annoying for a demo from a Pack.

It seems to work fine if you go ahead with the d/l and then just delete the .txt extension. Weirdness.

ZIPing or RARing future livepacks would be help avoid download-weirdnesses.

How/When can we create our own Live Packs?

Creates a new market place.... Allows ppl on tour to have a full backup for
installing on replacement systems..... etc etc.... Invaluable.

Thanks for these. Just to say that I had some problems downloading these. I was right clicking and saving as in Firefox, but Live thought the packs were corrupt. So I had to download some of them a few times until I could get Live to install them. Zipping or Raring them is probably the way to go when you stick them on the main site. THanks again!

Hi folks,

we got several requests and question concerning the creating of Live Packs.
As you will know we introduced the Live Pack format not until Live 5 so this format is still young. There are still several strategical and technical questions we want to solve before making a decision.

As an official announcement it sound like that:

We are in the process of defining a strategy for the development of the
Live library. Our main focus with the library, as with the software,
will be on quality. The future development of the Live Pack format will
be part of that strategy. Until those decisions have been made, the Live
Pack format will remain "closed".

regards,
Alex

Just click on the file name text and delete the ".txt" extension. You will then be asked if you want to change the file to an ".alp" click yes. Jobs done! (You can achieve the same in the info window.)

Just noticed somebody had already replied to the quote. Would have helped if I';d read the second page.

Just to inform you that these get saved as .txt files on Macs. Can be changed manually to .alp.

I´ve tried this a couple of times already... but after removing the ".txt" and trying to install Live says "This is not a valid Live pack file".

Anyone else having this problem?
