Multiple Arrangements

Post by boyinabox » Thu Aug 04, 2005 3:55 am

Multiple arrangements so that you can have several takes or an arrangement or even remix your own arrangement. (I think that makes sense)

Oh yes, several arrangements for the same liveset. A good way to keep track of successive versions of the same liveset, to create a "live" and a "CD" version from the same track... alternate remixes... This would be great.

Yes I know : save as, rename, add the date and version number to the filename, save into the "archive" folder... Makes comparing different versions a boring task, dont you think so ?

Just like Impulse

Post by boyinabox » Wed Aug 10, 2005 12:56 pm

Just like impulse has a drop down menu showing all the presets a live song could also hold multiple sets by default opens the first but if you have two or three different arrangements or a remix this could be stored in the live file + be accessed like in the new browser of live 5 as a collapsable folder for example.

although you could just arrange a folder called song then have sub cat song 1.1 etc but then changes made to an instrument in one file would not effect the other files .

So might be better if Live song file holds data and alt arrangements

(Hope that make s sense)

Yep, multiple arrangements in the same Live Set would be nice. "Save as" is not really the same thing, if only because you might (accidentally?) change the clips in Session view and then it wouldn't be an arrangement of the same source material, would it? :) Tabs might be a workable user interface solution.
