Behringer XENYX 1832fx... and one more thing

Hi,
I've been surfing the internet and i've seen the behringer xenyx 1832fx mixer, which i liked. i asked a friend about it and he was like it wont be of any use for me because i play on a DAW. He said it only works with the live stuff. For recordings n stuff. i want to know if i can use the in-built eq's of the mixer with the tracks on ableton? and launch clips n stuff with my mpd and control the chanel volumes from the behringer ? Is that possible?
And also,
the knobs on my mpd32 are spoilt. they keep sending signals on their own..so.. i saw the part i needed to replace the knobs (i guess) on mpcstuff.com.... its the Right PCB. Would it be the part which would fix my problem? Has anybody ever faced an issue like this ?

First of all, the 1832FX is a discontinued model now.

Second, you could use it with Live......but you'd need a multi output audio interface to get the audio from each Live channel into the individual channels of the Behringer mixer.

IMO you'd be better off buying a mixer with multi channel audio built in, so you could use it "plug & play".

Alternatively you could mix "in the box" using a mixer-style MIDI controller such as the Vestax VCM-600.

thanks.. i've seen a few control surfaces but im a little confused. The novation remote zero sl mkii and the nektar panorama p1 are both review to be very good with the hands on control. but both have cons when it comes to ableton. any other suggestions like the Vestax VCM-600
