arrangement view punch in record question...

Post by jramedia » Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:29 pm

is there a pre-roll option to hear all audio tracks before the punch in point on a vocal track in arrangement view ?? Maybe I'm using the loop brace and punch in switch incorrectly but when I enable the switch and set the time marker to the punch in point but it starts recording at that same spot no pre-roll listening .. any help on this would greatly be appreciated, I wish ableton would show some love to vocal comping features in a future update, maybe version 10. thanks.

The start of the arrangement loop brace is the start of your "punch in" (provided "punch in" is on)

Just set the play start wherever you want before the "punch in" point. Live will play the tracks without recording until the "punch in" point. The whole point of "punch in" is to be able to play the sequence and then start the recording at the desired point - the "punch in" (where the loop brace begins). If you are starting to play and record at the same time, then there is no need for "punch in" ;)
