Problem with Crackling

Post by Herr Schalow » Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:51 pm

Hi There,
i have this System:
-Macbook Pro Mid 2010 with OSX Mountain Lion running
-2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
-8 Gig RAM
-Focusrite Saffire Pro 14
-Ableton Live 9.1 64-Bit
-Ableton Push

My Problem is:
With or without Push, when i create, delete any track, device or effect while audio is playing there is an annoying Crackling Noise.
Does anybody please use the same System as me and everything runs smooth or has the same problem?
Please help me! I dont have money to buy a new system and i just cant stop making music! I would appreciate answers in relatively easy english, because im german ;)

Thank you.

in Live 9 i run the Buffer Size to 512 samples, everything higher i tried caused a very high latency which is very shitty in use with my Ableton Push....with 1024 it runs smooth but is as i mentioned very slooow. I dont understand that thing, because in Live 8 on the exact same system i dont have ANY problem with very big livesets...
The Saffire MixControl Software doesn't have any setting to adjust the buffer size...

thank you cor your reply and for more replies.

i've seen a lot of posters using that interface so i'm sure it can work just fine... what about drivers, have you updated those or checked to make sure there are no firmware updates available?

i doubt this is it, but just to cover all the basics; have you tried using a different USB port?

sorry Herr. i'm out of ideas... the only other thing i can think to do is to reboot and make sure that everything else that may be using your interface is closed... such as iTunes and any other DAWs you might have running.

i upgraded from Mountain Lion to Mavericks and that helped me with a Wifi issue i was having... but Live 9.1 was not yet released at that time so i do not know how it performed under Mountain Lion.

hopefully someone will chime in that might have a better idea how to help.

in the meantime, have you tried emailing [email protected] ? maybe they have some further troubleshooting steps you can take.
