What gear did you regret buying in 2013?

Anything you bought this year that just didn't live up to the hype, or didn't fit your workflow?

This is more of a save I guess, but I bought Komplete 9 Ultimate. Don’t regret the purchase but I’m glad I didn’t buy some of the included libraries I was interested in individually. Session Horns is meh. Action Strings is going to take some learning because its power and options aren’t obvious when you just fire it up and like some other NI libraries I don't like the fact that a loop keeps playing until you hit an off key. It's annoying if you just want chunks of a loop playing throughout a section but not continuously. West Africa is alright but I don’t see myself getting a whole lot of use out of it.

But I’m quite happy with Damage and my upgrade price to K9U was cheaper than if I just bought Damage (without a discount).

sampler. i've seen and heard it do great things and got it when they did the reduced price thing. so far i've barely used it. i still use simpler all the time. i'll probably get into it slowly over the year but for now...pffft

Maschine Mikro to be honest didn't quite live up to my expectations. I always thought it would be more useful than it actually turned out to be. The only reason it wasn't a total waste is because it included a copy of Massive software.

Electrix MoFx.
I bought it for the syncable delay that had a momentary button and eqing thinking it would serve some dub style needs.
The delay sounded terrible to me.

Cubasis on the iPad. Fookin' pile of donkey offal.

I'll stick with BeatMaker2 & Samplr.

Probably a lot of iOS app I buy and never use, but the only real let down for me this year was Electrify NXT. So close to being an ideal solution for playing live on the iPad, but too buggy and still some annoying UI issues.

I think mobile apps in general have lost their magic. It’s oversaturated and just about everything has been done already.

Cubase 7.5 wanted to be able to run some VST3 plugs, bad idea

Kaossilator 2 everything ended up sounding like an old video game

Akai SynthStation your phone is not a synthesizer

Slim Phatty yes it does that great sexy Moog sound and then...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

All told pissed away about $1000

Motu audio express - the one multi use volume control was just killing my workflow, but I managed to sell it a few months later and flip it for my interface of choice (presonus 44vsl) with no money out of pocket 8)
Ableton 9, Feeltune Rhizome, Focusrite Pro, Mpk249....

dare i say it... Push. for an expensive controller that only really works with Live, it's lacking a lot of functionality, and the rate of feature updates for it is limited to the same slow Live release pace. I'm sure there is good stuff to come but at the moment, i just find it a bit meh...

A guitar that I've already sold. Luckily it was a really good price in the first place.

sad that i have to say that but it`s SSL Nucles. i`m glad that i didn`t had to pay for it but it`s just dissapointing.
the integration with live is really bad. the drivers, the app for the interface routing and the updates for both of them are the worst ever. and the keyboard functionality for the shortcuts is buggy as hell.
logic integration is better but i wonder if i will see updates for logic x or live 9 this year or ever.
as i said, I´m lucky , i didn`t paid it but if anybody is considering one: think about it twice.

(btw.: the rest is working very well but that`s not enough for that price)
