Project not opening between two computers.

So i'm working on a collab with a friend at the moment, i have the latest version of 9 and he's running the trial version of 9.

When he sends the project to me, it opens fine and i can work on it no problem, but when i send back to him it won't allow him to open the project?

We thought it might be because he doesn't have a couple of plug ins (even though it should just open without them) but i've removed every non native effect and instrument from the project and it still won't open his end.

Any ideas?

I should add that i'm on mac and he's pc, but as far as i know this shouldn't be an issue.

Trial versions have limits.
