How do you increase the volume of ableton's grand pianos without incurring distortion?
I've tried everything and the pianos sound like distorted shit. The only way I can make them un-distorted is by wickedly decreasing their volume, but then the final mix is so low you can barely hear anything. My other songs are fine, but I swear there is something with Ableton's grand pianos that just blow balls.
I've adjusted all sorts of parameters to no avail. EQed, messed with attacks/decays, reverb, etc., and nothing seems to help.
Again, I only have this problem with ableton's grand pianos. If I swap the instrument to say something keyboard-ish, everything is fine. But there's something about live's piano samples that isn't working well.
here's a link to my song, you can hear the piano distortion, and the volume is terrible : (

Any suggestions?

Shouldn't become distorted unless the channel is in the red. Can't say I have had an issue with the ableton piano.
How are you increasing the volume? What is the channel level in comparison to the other track levels?

That's what I thought too but it isn't true. For instance, if put in a utility and just increase the gain, you'll notice that the piano starts to have distortion.
In my song there are 3 pianos, all the same, and all the levels are close to each other. They are the grand pianos in sampler. So I've tried adjusting the volume in the sampler under the global tab, but it just leads to distortion.
I have brought in other piano samples into the sampler, and then I am able to increase the volume w/o distortion, but those samples sound very electronic to me.
