A real entropy plugin would cause output progressively to degrade... more and more glitches and pops... latency going through the roof... components corroding... at last the computer stops working... a long silence ensues... the audience gazes at the musician who appears to have lapsed into a coma... it is ages before anyone things of calling a doctor... but by then it is too late.

I don't know. I don't know what we are all doing. But I know the theory of everything is a major challenge in the scientific world.

My ex-wife had a theory of everything.

but that might just be the ganja;)

seriously i have done this and it does sound somehow nice,
but when i play other people's songs they sound odd,
i have this tuned for a while now, i knew it was somehow
to do with this golden ration stuff, but i dont know much
at all about it, it just sounds nice, try it.

who cares about what people claim spiritually, thats up to them,
live and let live that what i say.

this is a good discussion, ive enjoyed reading, even this piss
taking posts, relax, the world is full of ideas, its just that,
men love to theorize over everything, nothing wrong with that.

All the world is in truth smaller than a grain of sand,
and its stuck in Slarty-bartfast's beard, we dont even live
in a universe, its just an illusion,Slarty-bartfast
is himself stuck in a bigger beings beard, its just
beard and more beard, forever spiraling up into infinity.
Electric guitars do sound nice tuned flat, can't explain why. Don't think it has specifically to be 432Hz though, just flat.

Nothing wrong with the idea of tuning to 432Hz, its just the conspiracies behind it that are the joke.

Forge. wrote:I'm sure I still don't fully understand it, but something I keep thinking every time I hear about the concept of entropy is that is seems to be limited by the perception of those judging it and where they happen to exist in the cycle of things...

to explain - if the natural tendency of things is to head towards chaos, then what about that period of time when everything is forming into a state of 'order'?

What I mean is, because of the way a human being is born and then dies, it influences our perception of reality so that we think of things in terms of there being a beginning and and end, But I've never been able to swallow the big bang concept because I imagine the universe to be more 'fractal' and infinite, and if there was a big bang then it is just the beginning of one cycle, more like a cycle of breathing..... like an exhalation, prior to inhalation, but because our perception of 'the arrow of time' being so tiny in the grand scheme of things, we find it difficult to comprehend a breath that takes many billions of years.

So in other words, the descent into entropy is more of a 'half way' point when it goes from a tendency towards order, to beginning towards chaos.

I don't understand how if the tendency of the universe is towards entropy then why do we go from this supposed big bang state to the state we are in now if the tendency is towards chaos?

anyone with a better understanding of this, Please, feel free to explain it to me.

Great disscussion folks some interesting points I definitely wanna look into and respond as best I can.

Regarding entropy and my understanding of it's use/misuse in pop culture. Entropy isn't a concept but I frequently hear it applied as a loose metaphore for the human condition or state of the planet/biosphere. Entropy is specific to closed systems i.e no outside influence (energy transference) and cannot apply to the universe as a whole afaia.

My understanding of it comes from science shows or articles that used it specifically to describe the universe as a whole and how eventually it will just be a sea of random particles.

We all do man! some are better than others though right>? lol Will have a think of some favorites.
If we subscribe to the idea of multiverses hinted at by non locality (I think) and wormholes then an eventual run down state is likely imo.

Every year after the first, these threads show up on every music message board. It's like a tradition, now.
I don't 'produce.' I write music.
